Feliciano "Felix" Gámez Jr.

Feliciano “Felix” Gámez Jr., was called by the Lord on January 5, 2018.

Felix, as he was know to many of his friends, truly was a larger than life figure and a hardworking man. He was a loving husband, father and a cheerful grandfather who loved to jest his grandchildren. With an avid love for hunting, the ranch life & catching rattle snakes, he was quite the outdoors-man who also loved to sing and spend much time around his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Feliciano & Josefa Gámez, siblings: Tomas (Amelia) Gámez, Maria Paz G. Martinez, Agustina (Roman) Lopez, Adan (Esperanza) Gámez, Domingo (Eva) Gámez, Virginia (Enrique) Martinez & Paula (Jose) Lerma.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 64 years of marriage, Julia T. Gámez, children: Josie (Eduardo) Mendoza, Irma (+Marcelo Mata) Gámez, Cecilia (Ignacio) Ortiz, Feliciano (Martina G.) Gámez III, Elva Ramirez, Veronica (Jesus R.) Garcia, Elisa (+Arnoldo) Hinojosa, Hermelinda Gámez-Johnston, Linda Gámez & Deborah M. Scaggs, siblings: Jose Paz (+Juanita) Gámez, Basilia Gámez, Eva (Eustolio) Rosel & Agustin (Alicia) Gámez, grandchildren: Ignacio Ortiz Jr., Felicia A. Gámez, Valeria Gámez, Feliciano (Rocio G.) Gámez IV, Juan Ramirez Jr, Samantha Ramirez, Jesus Andres Garcia, Emily V. Garcia, Julie Ann Hinojosa, Linda V. Hinojosa, Homero A. Hinojosa & Erica E. Johnston, great-grandchildren: Jonatan S. Marmolejo, Gabriel Segura Jr., Angel Bautista, Christina R. Hinojosa, Sophia Grace Hinojosa, Nicolas Gutierrez, Feliciano Gámez V, Calista Isabeau Gámez, J. J. Alter & Lexia Alter, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 8, 2018, from 4pm to 9pm at Gámez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services where a rosary will be recited at 7:00pm. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, from the funeral home to San Luis Rey Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be celebrated at 8:30am. Interment will follow immediately at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Feliciano Gámez III, Eduardo Mendoza, Ignacio Ortiz, Jesus R. Garcia, Elisa Hinojosa & Agustin Gámez Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be: Agustin Gámez, Jose Paz Gámez, Beto Guerra & Pedro Pantoja.

The family would like to express their utmost gratitude to all of the staff of Regent Care Center’s Lila wing, PA Charles Brunner, CNA Elsa Gamez, Nurses on Wheels, Fr. Hector Flores & Dr. Oscar Benavides & staff for all the special attention given to Mr. Gamez while under their care, and also appreciates all who took the time to visit him.

Funeral services are under the arrangements of Gámez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 1029 Bob Bullock Loop, Laredo, Texas 78043. For your convenience please turn right at the Valero on Ben Cha Dr. and use the back road to the funeral home.
