Jose Montano

Jose Rene Montano, 70, was called by the Lord on October 27, 2018.

A Vietnam Veteran, Mr. Montano served proudly in the US Army. He loved traveling, music and trying new things. He had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with his many friends and family. Jose Rene will be dearly missed by those he loved and made laugh.

He was preceded in death by his father, Santiago Raul Montano, brother, Ruben Salinas, grandmother, Mariana Flores Valdez, stepfather, Juan Martinez

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, LouAnn E. Montano, his mother, Maria Teresa Martinez, stepmother, Helda Montano, children: Beverley Leach, Brandy Montano, Louann R. Montano, Lucinda Gonzalez & Jeremy Rodriguez, siblings: Diego Montano, Ivan Montano, Myrna Montano, Brenda Hayes, Sandra Velazco, Sonia Hernandez, Mary Ann Castro, Rodolfo Martinez, Robert Martinez, Gerardo Salinas, Arturo Valdez, John Martinez & Eddie Martinez, 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be on Saturday, November 3, 2018, from the funeral home to San Martin De Porres Catholic Church  where a funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Military honors by the US Army and the Veteran's Honor Guard will follow immediately outside of the church. A cremation will be held at a later date.

Funeral services are under the arrangement of Gámez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 1029 Bob Bullock Loop, Laredo, Texas 78043.
