Gilberto Garcia

Gilberto Garcia, 83 yrs., was called by the Lord on September 22, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Andres O. & Sara Garcia; brother, Andy Garcia.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Consuelo Garcia; children, Francisco Gilberto (Gina) Garcia, Ernesto (Claudia A.) Garcia, Maria (Francisco) Olivo; 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandson; siblings, Rachel Garcia, Carmen (Danny) Aylward, Maria (Basilio) Cimental, Guadalupe (Felix) Hernandez, Sylvia (Ralph) Shaw, Elisa (Abel) Rodriguez, Esther Martinez, Patricia (Ernesto) Gonzalez, Sandra (Joe) Castro, Richard (Diane) Garcia, Alex (Rosalinda) Garcia, numerous nieces & nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 28, 2020, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services where a rosary will be celebrated at 7:00 pm.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 where funeral home doors will open at 7:00 a.m. Procession will depart at 8:00 a.m. from Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services to San Luis Rey Catholic Church where a mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m.

Interment will follow directly to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Mr. Garcia served in the United States Army. Fort Sam Houston and Laredo Veterans Honor Guard will hold military honors.

In accordance with city ordinance, the number of visitors will be limited to 50 percent occupancy capacity. Please feel free to wait in your vehicle for a turn if the funeral home reaches capacity. All visitors must wear a face mask before entering the building and use hand sanitizer provided upon entry. Visitors must provide their own face covering.  Anyone that is knowingly sick or has upper respiratory illness is asked to stay home and may be denied entry.
