My mother, Guadalupe Vecerra, passed way peacefully on March 1, 2024. Mom lived in Pearsall for the last 7 years, but was a life-long resident of Laredo, Texas.
She lived in Washington, D.C., at the age of 18, where she worked at the state capital and studied. Mom soon came to Laredo, where she married my father shortly after I was born. She also lived in Ft. Still, Oklahoma, where she was a soldier in the US Army. A few years later, she lived in Arkansas with my stepfather, Harold Dewayne White.
I know in my heart that D and Mom are together again. My mother gave me life, loved me, fought for me, and she even died with me. I will always love you mom, you live in my heart forever.
It doesn't matter where you die, it only matters where you lived. My mother was 69 years old and lost her batter with liver cancer.
She is survived by her daughter: Maria Guadalupe (Cameron) Tollett; grandchildren: Vanessa A.Garcia (Jose Alaniz), Jessica J.Garcia (Tyler Niel), Jesse J. Garcia Jr., and Santiago A.Garcia, and a great-granddaughter: Love J.Alaniz siblings: Jose Yepez, San Juana Cantu, Maria de los Angeles Becerra, Indalecio Becerra Jr., Maria Adela Becerra, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
