Guillermo Tovar

Guillermo Tovar, 83, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2020 in Laredo, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Guillermo & Pascuala Tovar; mom, Alicia Garcia; son, Guillermo Tovar Jr.; siblings, Hermila Tovar, Elda Solis, Pascuala Montemayor, Ramon Tovar, Mario Tovar, Jose Maria Tovar, Ramiro Tovar.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Susana M de Tovar; children, Maria (+Francisco) Renteria, Sylvia (Mario) Solis, Saul (Marisela) Tovar, Hugo Tovar, Isabel (Juan Pedro) Garcia, Juan Gerardo (Dinora) Tovar; 25 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; siblings, Olga Mendoza, Delia (Juan Luis) Ornelas, Martha (Roy) Coronado, numerous other family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, funeral home doors will open at 7:00 a.m. Procession will depart at 9:30 a.m. from Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services to Santo Nino Catholic Church where a mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.

Interment will follow directly to the City of Laredo Cemetery.

Honorary Pallbearers will be, Saul Tovar, Hugo Tovar, Gerardo Tovar, Francisco Renteria Jr., Juan Pedro Garcia Jr., Mario Solis Jr., Charlie Martinez, and Sammy Martinez.

In accordance with city ordinance, the number of visitors will be limited to 50 percent occupancy capacity. Please feel free to wait in your vehicle for a turn if the funeral home reaches capacity. All visitors must wear a face mask before entering the building and use hand sanitizer provided upon entry. Visitors must provide their own face covering.  Anyone that is knowingly sick or has upper respiratory illness is asked to stay home and may be denied entry.
