Gustavo Salazar Martinez

Gustavo Salazar Martinez, age 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 23, 2017, at his home in Laredo, Texas. He was born December 19, 1935 in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico to Blas Maria Salazar and Maria Benita Salazar. He apprenticed as a watchmaker, jeweler, and business owner. As an accomplished jeweler for many years, he repaired jewelry for companies such as Gordon's Jewelers, Zales, and Deutsch & Deutsch Jewelers. Gustavo is beloved by his brothers and sisters and his immediate family. He is survived by his wife Angelina Martinez, his son Gustavo Salazar II and Lisa N. Salazar daughter-in-law; his daughter Giovanna Gutierrez and Dario Gutierrez III, his son-in-law, and granddaughter, Natalia Carmen Gutierrez. He is also survived by his sisters Alicia Solis, Aurora Flores, Amelia Garcia and brothers Alberto Salazar and Ernesto Salazar.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Gustavo touched are invited to the funeral services at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 1029 Bob Bullock Loop, Laredo, Texas 78043, from 5:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2017, to reminisce, grieve, and support each other. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 29, 2017, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 9:00a.m.
