Hilda Lopez

Hilda G. Lopez, 66, was called by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 19, 2016.  She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. She was preceded in death by her parents: Alejandro Gomez and Angelina Maldonado.  She is survived by her children: Mauro Lopez Jr., Angelica (Steven Gutierrez) Lopez, and Alejandro Roberto Lopez, her grandchildren: Clarissa, Eduardo, Abrahn, Alejandro Jr., Elijah, Sarah, Miangelica, Amelie, and Angeline, her ex-husband, Mauro Lopez Sr., brother, Roberto (Esther) Gomez, sisters: Rosa (Jose) Gomez, Soledad (Antonio) Garza, Mary (Genaro) Rodriguez, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, co-workers and students.  She will be greatly missed by all.

Hilda was a devoted educator, having worked for LISD 40 years, serving as a History and Spanish teacher at L. J. Christen Middle School.

The family will be receiving guests on Thursday, July 21, 2016, from 8:00am to 1:00pm, at Gámez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, where a chapel service will commence at 1:00pm.  A visitation will also be held on Friday, July 22, 2016, from 9:30am to 11:30am, at the funeral. Interment will follow immediately at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Mauro Lopez Jr., Alejandro Lopez, Alejandro Lopez Jr., Elijah Lopez, Steven Gutierrez, Steven Gutierrez Jr., Chuck Gutierrez, Adam Gutierrez, and Armando Carrera. Honorary pallbearers: Mauro Lopez Sr. and Roberto Gomez.

Funeral services are under the arrangements of Gámez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 1029 Bob Bullock Loop, Laredo, TX 78043.
