Hortencia Chavez

Hortencia Chavez, 92, was called by the Lord on October 29, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Silviano & Francisca Torres; siblings, Raul (Nina) Torres, Ruben Torres, Rebecca Juarez, San Juana Torres.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 72 years of marriage: Vincent Chavez Sr.; children: Blanca Scola, Vincent R. (Susan M.) Chavez Jr.; grandchildren:  Victoria Martinez, Jessica Chavez, Vincent Tyson Chavez, Eric Brandon Chavez, Ryan Michael Chavez, Chad Peterson, Ken Peterson; great-grandchildren: Alyssa Chavez, Navin Chavez, Ksenija Chavez, Viera Chavez, Elina Chavez, Alexa Chavez, Arielle Chavez, Santino K. Chavez, Nicolino T. Chavez, Jasmine Sinclair, Jeremy Rodriguez, Aubrey Gonzalez, Jailyn Gonzalez, Isabella Martinez, Mirabel Martinez, Paloma Eve Peterson; siblings, Renato Torres, Oscar (Dora) Torres, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, from 5pm to 9pm at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services where a rosary will be recited at 7:00pm.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, November 4, 2023, departing te chapel at 8:30 am to San Luis Rey Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 am.

Interment will follow to the City of Laredo Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest.
