Jessica Montemayor

November 13, 1972 — September 19, 2016

Our beautiful daughter, sister, mother and wife, Jessica Jean Montemayor-Blasco, 43, was called to be with our Lord during the wee hours of Monday, September 19, 2016, after battling cancer. Jessica died peacefully at her home in the company of her immediate family.

Jessica was a friendly person, with strong religious beliefs, and a heart full of love. She was a care giver by heart, independent, friendly, outgoing, loud, strong willed, and ready to make a difference. And definitely ready to put forth a good fight.

Jessica was an active child.  Jessica played the violin and viola in school and with LCC Laredo Philharmonic Orchestra and guitar in the LCC Guitar ensemble and the United South Estudiantina.

Jessica was family oriented and enjoyed family activities, loved cooking and hosting social activities.  She enjoyed involving everybody, especially her son, “Baby Bear” (as she so affectionately called him) who she had with her husband of 17 years of marriage, Juan M. Blasco, and her nephews, especially during holidays. Jessica enjoyed nature, and as a child spent many summers camping and exploring with her family.  Jessica was also a very active Girl Scout attending camps and conferences in Corpus Christi, at the Island, and also flew to Arizona and Memphis.  Jessica graduated from Nixon high school, got married, and went to college.  Jessica eventually realized her calling and became a teacher. She taught kinder at Bonnie Garcia Elementary for the past 6 years.

“Although we are left with a void in our hearts, we are consoled by our faith in God and the fact that our Jessica touched many lives and made a positive difference in the lives of many as a daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, wife, mother, friend, and teacher - fulfilling God’s plans for her.

We are proud of the person our child grew up to be, and are appreciative of the time we were permitted to share with her.

We were truly blessed to have had her as our daughter. Our loss is truly God’s gain."

She was preceded in death by her grandmothers: Maria De Jesus Palos and Eloisa Gonzalez and mother-in-law, Maria De Jesus Blasco.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Juan M. Blasco Jr., son, Cristobal Blasco, parents: Juan Jesus and Elia Irene Montemayor, brother, Elias Jaime Montemayor, nephews and niece : Elijah M. Montemayor, Isaiah P. Montemayor, Mathias J. Montemayor, and Morgan I. Montemayor, father-in-law, Juan M. Blasco Sr., other relatives and friends.
