Joaquin Palacios Jr.

Joaquin Palacios Jr., 72, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 in Laredo, Texas.

He is a Vietnam Veteran.

Mr. Palacios is preceded in death by his brother Fidencio Palacios; sister, Maria de los Angeles Gonzalez, grandson, Jerardo Jose Palacios; great-granddaughter, Genevieve Galvan.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Maria Elena Palacios; children, Melinda Palacios (Adan Sanchez), Juan Manuel Contreras, Francisco J. (Rebecca) Palacios, Mayela (Gerardo) Martinez, Jerardo (Victoria) Palacios, Maria Elena (Eduardo) Rodriguez Jr., Joaquin Palacios III, Javier Palacios, Jilberto (Adriana) Palacios, Jose Luis (Griselda) Palacios, Joaquin Palacios IV, Jennifer Lizette Palacios, and Erica Ramos; siblings, Carmen Arredondo, Maria Isabel Nava, Pedro (Sabina) Palacios, Orelia (Criserio +) Rubalcaba, Anselma Palacios, and Soledad Palacios-Antunez. He is also survived by 34 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

A rosary will be recited on Monday, April 22, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 8:30 a.m. from Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services to St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m.

Interment will follow to the City of Laredo Cemetery.

Military honors will be provided by the Fort Sam Houston Honor Guard and the Laredo Veterans Honor Guard.

Pallbearers will be Jilberto Palacios, Jose Luis Palacios, Jerardo Palacios, Joaquin Palacios IV, Joaquin Palacios III, Francisco Palacios Jr., Juan Carlos Ramos Jr., and Eduardo Rodriguez,

Honorary Pallbearer will be Francisco Joaquin Palacios.

Funeral services are under the arrangement of Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 1029 Bob Bullock Loop, Laredo, Texas 78043.
