John Olivas

John Olivas, 71, passed away on, Tuesday, August 18, 2020 in Laredo, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Faustino & Angelica Ochoa Olivas.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Maria de la Luz Olivas; son, Eduardo Olivas; granddaughter, Marissa Faith Olivas, numerous other family and friends.

Mr. Olivas served in the United States Marine Corps with Military Honors, E4 Corporal, and a Laredo Veterans Honor Guard.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services were a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020, funeral home doors will open at 7:00 a.m.  Procession will depart at 9:00 a.m. from Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services to Saint Joseph Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m.

Interment will follow immediately to the City of Laredo Cemetery.

In accordance with city ordinance, the number of visitors will be limited to 50 percent occupancy capacity. Please feel free to wait in your vehicle for a turn if funeral home reaches capacity. All visitors must wear a face mask before entering the building and use hand sanitizer provided upon entry. Visitors must provide their own face covering.  Anyone that is knowingly sick or has upper respiratory illness is asked to stay home and may be denied entry.
