Josefina Barajas de Betancourt

Josefina Betancourt, 82, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2020 in Laredo, Texas.

Mrs. Betancourt is preceded in death by her husband, Felipe Betancourt; parents, Saturnino Barajas and Maria Isabel Alcala de Barajas; 2 siblings.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Ana Luisa (Miguel Angel) Cardosa, Silvia (Juan F.) Pina, Mario Alberto (Maribel) Betancourt, Maria Isabel (Enrique) Morales, Maria de Lourdes (Jose Alberto) Vazquez; 17 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 6 siblings, numerous other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Gamez &  Sons Funeral and Cremation Services where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2020, funeral home doors will open at 8:00 a.m.  Procession will depart at 9:30 a.m. from Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services to Santo Nino Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow immediately to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

In accordance with city ordinance, the number of visitors will be limited to 50 percent occupancy capacity. Please feel free to wait in your vehicle for a turn if funeral home reaches capacity. All visitors must wear a face mask before entering the building and use hand sanitizer provided upon entry. Visitors must provide their own face covering.  Anyone that is knowingly sick or has upper respiratory illness is asked to stay home and may be denied entry
