Jose Orta Juarez, 68, was called by the Lord on March 25, 2021.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Maria Cristina Orta Martinez, sons: Jose Juan Orta, Roberto (Brenda) Orta, Danny (Yessica) Orta & Omar Orta, siblings: Matilde Orta, Emma (Benito) Garza & Juan Orta, grandchildren: Eunice, Ashley, Natalie, Elizanette, Xiomara & Emanuel Orta, nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Pallbearers will be: Jose Juan Orta, Roberto Orta, Danny Orta, Omar Orta, Miguel Orta & Hugo Mendez.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 29, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Gamez and Sons Funeral Home & Cremation Services where a rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at Santa Monica Catholic Mission where a funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Funeral home doors will open at 7:00 a.m. Procession departs at 9:30 a.m.

Interment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

In accordance with city ordinance, the number of visitors will be limited to 50 percent occupancy capacity. Please feel free to wait in your vehicle for a turn if funeral home reaches capacity. All visitors must wear a face mask before entering the building and use hand sanitizer provided upon entry. Visitors must provide their own face covering.  Anyone that is knowingly sick or has upper respiratory illness is asked to stay home and may be denied entry.
