Leonor Cano

Leonor Cano, age 89, of Hobart, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2019.  She was born on November 5, 1929 in Laredo, Texas to the late Concepcion and Maria (nee Gomez) Escobedo. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

She is survived by her loving children, Angie (Marciano) Martinez, Hortencia “Manie” (Jose) Luque, Maria “Lucy” (Salvador) Gonzalez, Jose Luis (Beth) Cano, Rudy (Sandy) Cano, Rosie (Edward) Zimmerman and Jesus (Gloria) Cano; 18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Maria Molina;  two sister-in-law’s, Maria and Santa Escobedo; many loving nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Guadalupe Cano; infant, Guadalupe and Jose Cano; daughter, Rosita Cano; grandson, Juan Martinez; granddaughter, Valerie Cano; eight siblings, Josefina (Viviano) Garcia, Augustin (Rosa) Escobedo; Aurora (Secundino) Costilla, Francisco Escobedo, Olga Escobedo, Luis (Olga) Escobedo, Juan Escobedo, Consuelo (Jose Paz) Morado and brother-in-law Rey Molina.

A rosary will be recited on Monday, June 17, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Gamez & Sons where a Chapel Service will begin at 8:30 a.m. Funeral home opens at 7:00 a.m.

Interment will follow immediately at the City of Laredo Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be, Rudy Cano Sr, Jesus Cano Sr, Jesus Cano Jr, Gustavo Martinez Jr, Miguel Angel Magaña, Andrew Guadalupe Gonzalez, Juan Carlos Martinez & Christina Araceli Gonzalez.

Funeral services are under the arrangement of Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 1029 Bob Bullock Loop, Laredo, Texas 78043.
