Maria Lira

Maria Paula Lira, 63, born September 21, 1957, in San Jose del Plan, Municipio de Matehuala SLP, was called by the Lord on January 22, 2021, in Mirando City, Texas.

A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Maria Paula loved spending time & cooking food for her grandchildren. As a 20-year employee of WEBB CISD, Paulita took pride preparing and serving meals to all the students and staff. She loved giving back to the community and was devoted to her church family through the altar society. Paulita will forever be missed by all those that loved and knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan & Rosario Gonzalez.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Javier Lira, children: Javier (Julia) Lira Jr., Juan (Gina) Lira, Eliza (Jose Luis) Valverde & Miguel Lira, six grandchildren, siblings: Lazara (Abel) Coronado, Constantino Gonzalez, Juan Gonzalez, Jesus (Nicolasa) Gonzalez, Macrina (Jesus) Garcia, Lucy (Jesus) Gonzalez, Ruben (Evodia) Gonzalez & Maria del Rosario (Santos) Esparza, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Gamez and Sons Funeral Home & Cremation Services where a rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, from the funeral home to St. Agnes Mission located on 324 Linder Avenue in Mirando City, Texas 78369 where a funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Procession departs at 10:00 a.m. Funeral home opens at 7:00 a.m.

Interment will follow to Magnolia Cemetery located off FM 1488  N 6th St. in Mirando City, Texas 77354.
