Maria Concepcion “Concha” Serna, 67, was called by the Lord on August 19, 2021.
Mrs. Serna was a person who enjoyed dancing and listening to Conjunto and Tejano music. She also loved to watch NFL Football especially her favorite teams The Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay and her favorite football players were Dak Prescott and Aaron Rogers. Her greatest enjoyment was to spend time with her children, grandkids, great-grandkids, and nieces and nephews. She was loved by everyone and will never be forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel A. Serna; siblings, Guadalupe Solis, Ramon Zamarripa, Dolores Zamarripa, Alejo Zammaripa Jr., parents: Alejo and Concepcion Zammaripa, Sr..
Left to cherish her memory is her children, William J (Delia) Turgeon, Nora (Eddie) Villarreal, Rachel (Jose) Serna; grandchildren, Whitney, William III, Kevin, Frank, Emily, Eddie Jr., Kimberly, Julianna, Joe, Andy, Tony, Jeanette, and Giovani; 8 great grandchildren; siblings, Manuel, Pablo, Juan, & Leandro Zamarripa, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 23, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, from the funeral home to St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church where a mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Procession departs at 8:30 a.m.
Cremation will be held at a later date.
