Maria De La Luz Gutierrez

Maria De La Luz Gutierrez, 71, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 8, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

“Mary” as she was affectionately known as a wonderful mother, wife, grandmother, sister and friend. Mary was always a positive and kind person even when facing a difficult situation, Mary was quick to offer encouragement and faith to forge ahead, her children will carry this with them. Her smile and sweet nature will be missed by those who knew her. Mary had the honor of working for the Webb County Appraisal for more than 30+ years as a clerk.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Octaviano Gutierrez Sr.

Left to cherish her memory is her children: Octaviano (Gabriela) Gutierrez Jr., Veronica (Bruce L.) Jimenez, and Liz (Rogelio) Fermin, 6 grandchildren: Octavio Roberto Gutierrez, Laura Isabel Gutierrez, Sharon Lee Jimenez, Alyssa Lynette Jimenez, Melanie Aurora Jimenez, and Jacqueline Brisella Fermin; siblings: Bernando (Eufemia) Bañuelos, Alejandro (Maria Elena) Bañuelos, Yolanda (William) Lins, Adriana Meil, Amelia Martinez (Ramiro Hernandez), & Raul (Julia) Soliz, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 15, 2018, from the funeral home to San Luis Rey Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow immediately at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Octaviano Gutierrez Jr., Luis Eduardo Lopez, Ramiro Hernandez Jr., Bruce L. Jimenez, Jose Luis Flores, Ruben Damian Benavides, Gilberto Gutierrez, Gerardo Gutierrez & Ascencion Gutierrez.

Funeral services are under the arrangement of Gámez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 1029 Bob Bullock Loop, Laredo, Texas 78043.
