Matthew Alan "Gory" Herrera

Matthew Alan “Gory” Herrera, 18, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 in Laredo, Texas.

Mr. Herrera is preceded in death by his sister, Melanie Alexandra Herrera; maternal grandparents Jose & Yolanda Alma De La Cruz; paternal grandfather, Eloy Herrera Sr.; cousin, Monica L. Herrera.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Carlos Herrera and Norma Lucia De La Cruz; siblings, Carlos Herrera Jr., Samantha (Ernesto) Martinez, Steven Alexander (Angelika) Herrera, Jo Ann Herrera, Katherine (Alvaro) Villarreal, Melody De La Cruz; paternal grandmother, Cecilia Herrera, numerous other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 17, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services where a prayer service will be recited at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, funeral home doors will open from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., where procession will depart at 10:00 a.m. from Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services to City of Laredo Cemetery.

In accordance with city ordinance, the number of visitors will be limited to 50 percent occupancy capacity. Please feel free to wait in your vehicle for a turn if funeral home reaches capacity. All visitors must wear a face mask before entering the building and use hand sanitizer provided upon entry. Visitors must provide their own face covering.  Anyone that is knowingly sick or has upper respiratory illness is asked to stay home and may be denied entry
