Reymundo Candelario De Hoyos

Reymundo Candelario De Hoyos, 82, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019 in Laredo, Texas.

Reymundo worked as a factory foreman for the Peter Cooper Glue Factory for 19 years in Carrollville, Wisconsin before moving back to Texas with his family. Always industrious, he and his five sons built the home in Oilton, Texas, where he eventually retired to and where he loved to sit on the front porch with his wife, Pepa, and his dog, Sparky. He was a loyal husband, an incredible father, an adoring grandpa and a highly revered friend to many.

Mr. De Hoyos is preceded in death by his son Raymond De Hoyos.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 62 years Maria Josefa De Hoyos; children, Jose Felix De Hoyos, Mario Alberto (Kaiyan Chen) De Hoyos, Julio Ernesto (Gloria) De Hoyos, Olga Lidia Ramirez, Geronimo (Kimberly) De Hoyos, and Raquel De Hoyos; siblings, Jesus De Hoyos, Juan (Gladys) De Hoyos, Antonio (Ruth) De Hoyos, and Jose (Teresa) De Hoyos. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

A rosary will be recited on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gamez & Sons Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. from Gamez & Sons Funeral Home to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Funeral home opens at 7:00 a.m.

Pallbearers will be, Matthew De Hoyos, Marc De Hoyos, Julio De Hoyos, Emilio De Hoyos, Quentin De Hoyos, and Pepe Calderon.

Cremation will be held at a later date.

The family wishes to extend our gratitude to Regent Care Nursing Home and the many staff who loved and cared for him as if he were their own.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests tribute gifts be made to The Parkinson’s Foundation.

Funeral services are under the arrangement of Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 1029 Bob Bullock Loop, Laredo, Texas 78043.
