Rita Eloisa Medina

Rita Eloisa Medina entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 5, 2024, at the age of 87, in Laredo, TX, peacefully at home, surrounded by her family.

Rita was born and raised in Laredo, TX, where she was a pillar in her community. Rita was a devoted mother and grandmother that dedicated her life to her family. She enjoyed traveling with her children and going to the bingo. Rita was a vibrant soul and enjoyed singing and dancing. She will leave a void in the lives of all who knew and loved her, but we find solace in knowing she lived a life full of love and joy.

Rita is preceded in death by her husband, Juan Medina; parents, Jesus Escobar & Maria Escobar; sister, Antonia Lerma; grandson, Juan Landa.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her children: Gloria (Luis) Jimenez, Rita Landa, Maria F. Gonzalez, Juan (Laura) Medina Jr., Hector (Nicolasa) Medina, Jesus (Candelaria) Medina, Monica (Miguel) Hinojosa, Rodolfo (Angelica) Medina. As well as her 30 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great- grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024, from 5 to 9pm at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, where a Rosary will be held at 7pm.

Funeral Services will he held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, from 7 to 9:30am at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services where we will depart to Christ the King Catholic Church for a mass starting at 10am. 

Interment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Juan Medina Jr. ,Hector Medina, Jesus Medina, Rodolfo Medina, Jimmy Jimenez, Jaime Landa, Daniel Gonzalez Jr., and Miguel Hinojosa Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers: Mario F. Landa Jr., Felix Landa, Luis Jimenez, Juan Medina III, Ricky Landa, Justin Gonzalez, Hector Medina Jr., Alex Hinojosa, Roy Medina, Erik Medina, Apolonio Hinojosa, Jesus Medina Jr., and Rodolfo Medina Jr.
