San Juanita Castro

San Juanita Castro, 81, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2020 in Laredo, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Benito Castro; sons, Juan Ramon Castro and Marcial Castro. She is also preceded in death by all her brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Benito (Maria) Castro Jr., Alfredo (Angelica) Castro, Paulo (Maria de los Angeles) Castro, Rogelio Castro, Ramiro Castro, Jesus (Maria) Castro, Guadalupe (Gabriel) Contreras, Teresa Castro, and Jose (Josie) Castro. He is also survived by 35 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 13, 2020 at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. where a rosary will recite at 7:00 p.m.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services where doors will open at 7:00 a.m. Procession will be leaving to Nuestra Señora del Rosario Catholic Church at 9:00 a.m, where a mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow to the City of Laredo Cemetery.

In accordance with city ordinance, the number of visitors will be limited to 50 percent occupancy capacity. Please feel free to wait in your vehicle for a turn if funeral home reaches capacity. All visitors must wear a face mask before entering the building and use hand sanitizer provided upon entry. Visitors must provide their own face covering.  Anyone that is knowingly sick or has upper respiratory illness is asked to stay home and may be denied entry. Similar or more stringent guidelines are applicable at the church and cemetery. Please check directly with the church and cemetery for their COVID guidelines.
